Austrian Lotteries win EL Innovation Award 2024

The EL Innovation Awards once again celebrate Europe's forward-thinking lottery innovations. This year’s winner - Austrian Lotteries – was awarded for their exceptional ‘’Hybrid Player Protection Suite’’. This innovative player protection suite stands out as a model of responsibility.

By using cutting-edge AI and machine learning proactive harm prevention strategies​, the Suite is designed to create a safer and more controlled gaming environment, putting the well-being of players at the forefront while still delivering an engaging lottery experience. Combining the power of AI with human experience and scientific knowledge, Austrian Lotteries' approach for this campaign is based on their longstanding commitment to responsible gaming.

The award ceremony took place during the EL Innovation Seminar (9-11 October 2024) in Rotterdam (NL), hosted by Nederlandse Loterij. 

Notes:

[1] The top three winners of the EL Innovation Awards were chosen by a jury consisting of innovation experts out of 29 submissions. ONCE (Spain) took second place and SISAL (Italy) third place. All submitting lotteries will have the chance to be part of a wider EL project to showcase lottery innovations with positive social impact.  

[2] Whether it’s an innovation of a new product, an improved customer journey or a process, the bi-annual EL Innovation Awards showcase the top lottery innovations in Europe. The Innovation Awards are an initiative by the EL Innovation and Technology Working Group.
