Travelling to Morocco

By Plane

Marrakech is most easily reached by air.

Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) is the main international airport serving the city, with flights from major European hubs and other international destinations. Direct and connecting flights operate regularly; travel time from many European cities is approximately 3 to 5 hours by plane

Note: Direct flights to Marrakech Menara from some smaller European airports may be seasonal and availability can vary by airline.

Entry Requirements

A valid passport is required with at least six months validity beyond your planned departure date from Morocco.

Visa requirements depend on nationality; many European passport holders do not require a visa for short stays, but check the latest official guidance before travel.

Getting around Marrakech

Airport Transfers:

For your convenience, shuttle transfers between Marrakech Ménara airport and the official hotels will run every 30 minutes on Sunday June 7, Monday June 8 morning and Wednesday June 9. Hosts with distinctive EL signs will be waiting for you after baggage claim.

Once in Marrakech, taxis offer the most straightforward way to reach key sites. For a more local flavour, the city’s narrow medina streets — best explored on foot — invite wandering through souks and historic quarters.

Exploring the City

Marrakech’s main attractions, including Jemaa el-Fna Square, the Medina souks, Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque and Jardin Majorelle, are typically reachable on foot or via short taxi rides.

Practical Tips

  • Cultural norms: Morocco is a predominantly Muslim country; respecting local dress codes and customs is advised.
  • Health & Safety: Drink bottled water, secure personal valuables, and be aware of pickpocketing especially in crowded souks.
  • Electricity: Morocco uses Type C and Type E plugs (230V, 50Hz). European plugs typically work without an adapter, while travelers from other regions may require a converter.
