European Lotteries in the Digital Age: Adapting to New Gaming Models, Ensuring Player Protection and Fighting Illegals
What does the future hold for Members of the European Lotteries (EL) in the digital age?
The advent of the digital age holds thrilling possibilities for the gambling sector and could usher it to a new era with the technology providing the next big jump in the way games are played. However, they also bring along potential dark pitfalls and questions about the long-term nature of the lottery model (in terms of redistribution, responsible gambling modalities, sector-specific regulation, etc.). On this journey, the protection of consumers – especially vulnerable individuals and minors – as well as public order against money laundering and fraud remain top priorities for Lottery operators in Europe.
This event will allow us to consider new perspectives for the sector of the recent surge in the development and application of artificial intelligence, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and cryptocurrencies. We will also discuss the partnership opportunities with the e-sports industry.
